Since the early 1980s, we have provided a safe and sure way of providing high quality, no worry, veterinary treatment with our Pal for Life scheme. Over the years more than 20,000 pets have benefited from the Scheme.

The Orchard Pal For Life Scheme is a membership scheme and NOT an insurance policy.

By enrolling your pet you become a member of our exclusive club.

Free veterinary fees

On the Pal for Life Scheme, you no longer need to worry about the cost of seeing the vet – your pet can come and see us as often as you feel necessary and there will not be any charge for the vet or nurse consultation. You also get discounts on treatment, medicines, neutering, worming, flea treatments, pet care products, food and other services. Just like the NHS, all you have to pay for is the prescription - which is discounted to members.

Free vaccinations

Annual boosters are free for life on the scheme, with younger animals being covered for their first set of vaccinations too. 

Open to all pets

Any animal that we treat can join, young or old, healthy or sick! Animals that are healthy on joining get the widest cover but all pets, even those not eligible for any form of insurance, get the main benefits on our Critical Care cover – ask for more details!

The Scheme has the following advantages over commercial insurance policies: 
No limit to the amount of cover - Your subscription will not be increased because of age or illness.
All illnesses are covered - We will not exclude anything that develops during membership, so life-long problems are covered - for life.
There is no excess to pay when treatment is carried out at our surgeries.
Old and sick animals can also be covered - even those on long-term medication.
We include many things that no insurance policy can cover, such as vaccination, nail clipping, microchips, minor ailments - and a check-up whenever you want.
A range of discounts for non-medical procedures such as neutering, behaviour counselling, physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, anti-season injections, grooming, preventative healthcare, etc.
Discounts for pet-care products, worm and flea preparations, and diets.
No-claims discount for pets that remain healthy.
